Here is a little sand art I recently created at Dreamtime beach – Fingal Head Australia. It’s something a little different than what I usually create. This is my second attempt at sand art and I found myself very immersed in it. I think the reason is because you are racing against the tide you don’t have time to be too critical and without really seeing the big picture you have to trust that it’s all going to work.
I found it only fitting to do a giant humpback whale as they are currently migrating up the east coast of Australia to give birth to their calves in the warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef. I feel so blessed to witness these majestic creatures right here off the coast, close to where I live.
Researchers say we are expecting around 30,000 humpback whales on their migration this year! They certainly have made a huge comeback since the days of whaling. And these numbers would not be a possibility without organisations like the Sea Shepherds Society and their incredible work saving our whales from near extinction. I am a huge supporter of the Sea Shepherds and I do whatever I can to support their amazing work and help spread the message of the importance of conservation of our oceans and the planet.
